I think the only difference is that the truck with the tow package has a different fan clutch and a frame hitch. It is also a good idea to have a transmission cooler. All of these can be installed.

Im not sure, but I think that the thing in front of the radiator is the a.c. cooler. You don't exactly have to have the transmission cooler, but it's a good thing to have on long distance. Also you don't need an oil cooler. It isn't necessary for towing. The fan and radiator is good enough. Im not sure but I think that the 04 can even tow up to 6,000 lbs. Here is a link to one of my questions. http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=321777

Almost every Truck if not all trucks can be equipped with tow hitches. U-haul sells Tow Kits for all models. They have different classes of hitches also. Depending on what the maximum towing capacity is of the vehicle. The one in front of the radiator is called an AC condenser. I am not sure if the Tacoma's are equipped with an oil cooler. I believe if it is an automatic trans. they have it. 5 spd doesnt. If you want to add an oil cooler or trans oil cooler, you can call summit racing and consult with them. They carry OEM parts as well as performance parts. I know that the car's oil cooler is part of the radiator. The hoses are either on the left or right side of the end tanks of the radiator. If your truck has this, (ask dealer, if not sure) you can find oil coolers kits at Pepboys or Kragen's or any other parts store and just re-route the hoses to where ever you want to mount the cooler. Trans coolers? I am not sure on those, but they do sell kits for those too. Consult dealer or any automotive shops. Or you can ask the technicians at summit racing.

Wow, that was long. Hope that helped. Goodluck. Any other questions, e-mail me at [email protected]. And I will try to answer them if I can..
