Gillet M3 Power razor OWNS!

omg i just bought and used of these new babys, man im amazed by how comfortable of a shave that was. Incase you dont know, the new M3 power razor from gillet is the one thats got a little motor in it that makes the razor vibrate. Before the shave, i hadnt shaved in a little over week, so the beard was getting pretty thick. This razor just cut right through it, i couldnt really even feel the razor, it just glides along on your skin and leaves a really comfortable shave. This post might seem odd, but ive always hated shaving, i used to have the Mach 3 Turbo, but that ALWAYS gave me razor burn and made my face feel like it was on fire when i was done. But this one, it feels amazing. OK enough of my rambling.

But by far the GIllet M3 Power is the best razor ive ever used. For 17.99 it is by no means a cheap razor, but you can still use any of the Mach 3 razors on it.

my dad told me that style of razor came out several years ago. i do not care to try it, but i am glad it is working for you.

maybe if i saw it at a garage sale or something i would buy it, but for $18, yeah right.

What exactly does the "motor" do if it is not an electric razor? Isn't it just still a manual razor?

Its bullshit - its a gimic. Listen to the commercial, it says the razor emits "micro-pulses" that suposedly raise the hair so it gets cut closer. I've got the regular machIII turbo and it IS a great razor. I think that Gellete was kinda caught off guard now that Schick came out with their Quattro 4-blader so they concocted this new one. Like replacement blades are not expensive enough, now you've gotta replace batteries????

I don't even buy the replacement mach3 TURBO blades with the moisture strip I just go for the regular mach3 blades - way cheaper and basically the same bloody thing.

the motor in the power razor stimulates your hair folicles, causing them to stand on end and be easier to cut/shave, also causing less irritation.

Meh, I use an electric Remington, It does an awesome job, I just don't care most of the time, and miss spots.

meh, I still use the gillette sensor excel. Those tri-blades and crap are too expensive. the sensor excel does its job, I do get irritation if I don't shave for awhile though. One gripe though is I can't shave upwards for my beard, so it's not the closest cut. If I shave upwards it'll get really irritated and bumpy. Anyone here shave upwards?

beard hair is so thick, I doubt it really makes your hair stand up that much. Also it would have to use statis electricity, mere vibration isn't going to make shit stand up, much less thick beard hair

There was that thread about overclocking the toothbrush, I wonder if someone can overclock a razor.

Anyone here shave upwards?

yup
i shave up once, then polish it off by shaving down and getting any hairs i missed

I get a nice close shave that way

The only good thing Ive heard about the M3 razor was that it can be used as a really cheap " marital aid" :naughty:

I don't understand why people waste money on things like this. I just buy a billion pack of gillette disposables at costco. Some people might argue that they don't shave "close enough". Those people just need to learn how to shave correctly.

publicenemy137

disposables suck. They cut your skin more often and they aren't sharp, and don't last as long

I've never cut myself shaving. They're sharp enough. I mean seriously, how sharp does something have to be just to cut hair off your face? They obviously don't last long; thats why they're called disposables. Hence the reason they sell them in bulk.

SLAYTANIC_1134

It is actually cheaper to get the original Mach III then to buy those disposable razors. And also you can get just as clean of a shave w/ disposables it just takes three strokes instead of one!

I like the Mach 3 turbo better then mach three. I do use the Gillete shave gel and after shave gel works great and cuts off the on fire feel. I have sensitive skin and no matter what I use I will have razor burn. I also have a remington electric razor. I was first impressed now I not impressed at all. The quality of the screens is crappy and cracked. Where do you get your replacements from? I have had mine a little over a year.

Heh. I think I'm the only man here that uses an eletric shaver all the time for my face becasue I'm lazy... lol, The only time I use a blade is when i'm going out on a special night or a special occasion. Plus I use the Mach 3 Turbo when I use a blade. Its not too bad.

you guys are obviously hairless babies.... j/k

seriously though I have been useing a mach 3 for years and it is a huge difference over the disposables. My skin is very sensitive and I have very thick facial hair. if I shave every day it looks like I have chicken pox on my face... don't tell me I've done it wrong I've tried everything. If I shave about everyother day Its not as bad. but the mach 3 helps alot, I too thought the vibrateing razor was a scam till I tried it... it really does make an even smoother less painful shave than the mach 3. if you wanna test it just take one swipe with the motor on and one with it off, you will find that it increases your comfort alot with the vibrations.

PS 12.00 bucks for me... 17.99........ sucker.

Well I have the Mach 3 with the motor crap. The thing works when you have short stubs on your face...not when you have this:

Well, I've been using the Mach 3 Turbo, and I absolutely love it, nice clean close shave. I don't understand those razor's with the battery...just seems like a gimic to me...and also seems like the exact same thing as the mach 3..just a different color..and more weight.

raz just when he gets home from a terrible day at work. hearing people say "where is the power button" and "where is the any key". he then thinks about blowing up the office that he works at because this is the only way to stop the pain.

after his stapler is taken, he then plans to burn the building down.

guys this razor is for real. I had a really thick beard today, this thing just cut through it. Instead of feeling like im shaving the hairs off my face, all you feel is a little vibration and the hairs just seem to melt off. Imagin a hot knife cutting through butter, this how well the razor works.
Think of it this way, if your cutting a tomatoe, do you just push the knife straight through it? Or do you slide the knife back and forth? This is what this razor does to your hairs.

Its not a gimic, i dont work for gillet. Its just an amazing razor.

I use the schick extreme 3. Awesome razor. The blades stay sharp for a long time too. I used to get major razor burn with the mach 3 and then one day got a sample from schick in the mail and I was sold. I don't ever get razor burn anymore and I shave my face and head everyday.

I use the Schick Quattro. Awesome razor. And why bother with replacement blades? I just keep going until the blade gets dull and rusty. A few days after that, once a nice infection sets in, i can just peel the skin off, hair and all. 3 minutes, tops, and i'm done.

I hate schick extreme 3, used it before. Prefer mach 3 or what i'm using now more, gilette sensor excel double razored style.

Oh yea this would be a good time to ask this. I always wondered why people go to the Barbar to get their facial hair shaved off. I mean are they that lazy they can't shave their own hair off? Is it that hard to just lather on shaving cream and cut it off? It's like getting someone else to cut your fingernails

Jas_M

Because you get one hell of a close shave. I sprung for the barber shop shave once, and it was waaaay better than anything i ever accomplished on my own.

cause other people can always do a better job than you... they see things that you'd miss

Why do you think people get manicures? Cause other people can cut your fingernails better than you can :sunglasse

Havent bought a razor in 25 years. I'm on a shave test thing that they send one every 2 weeks or so. So I get to try them before anyone else does. My son has tried the new vibrating one.??? it's ok

This is a design that Seymore/Powell came up with. I too have tried it, and I think its fantastic.

I just don't get a good enough shave from a conventional electric, but this new razor is a breeze.

I love getting a shave at the barbers. But the first time I went (about 3 visits ago lol) the hot towel threw me off. It feels so nice when you're all done though.

Having mad beards is cool, but it kills when you have to shave..

Especially speed shaves when your in a hurry and you bleed like a mofo

w3rd up. Literally.

Mine's yellow.

I hate it how the battery runs out half way through though. Cleaning is a bitch, and I really hate the fact that when the battery is low, or has run out, I'm to lazy to charge it up, so I got another week with a 1/2 face of hair....what the hell am I thinking!?

I have to disagree. There is a difference depending on your skin type. I switched to the Turbos b/c they left my face smoother was just a more comfortable shave.

I fell for the M3 Power to. I just had to try it. Only used it twice. Gonna have to use it a few times and see, but right now I still prefer the Mach3 Turbo.

I use an electric first and then follow it with a razor. Gets my face baby smooth.

I reckon a lot of you getting razor burn are shaving wrong.

http://ask.yahoo.com/ask/20030404.html

Use a GOOD shaving gel, wash your face 4-5 times with HOT water afterwards and put on a hint of aftershave.

to be honest, i've had mach3, and mach3 turbo, but i didnt like either. I know this sounds weird but the best shaver i've found so far are the womens pink ones. They give a damn clean shave, and leave your face feeling like a babies but after your done, they work amazing.

ps: (im a guy, dont get confused because i use pink razors.)

:1: Can't beat it.

Although, all y'all are talkin bout lather, aftershave, sensitive skin...sheeit, I take my Mach 3, dip it in water, then have at it. When I'm done shavin, I hop in the shower and THEN lather up. NEVER had ANY irritation or razor burn. Shaving cream/gel just takes too much time...
