Suburban steering "rag joint"

1992 Heavy 3/4 ton 4x4 Suburban. Steering wheel has alot of play in it. Alignment shop this morning showed me how worn and loose the rag joint on the steering shaft, next to the steering box was. They suggested getting a good, dry, used intermediate shaft that includes the rag joint. Having no luck at salvage yards finding one. Some say "come look and pull one off"... Scared that one would be no better than what I have. What are my options?? The rest of the front end is nice and tight they said, no problems anywhere else on truck. Thx in advance.

I believe Borgeson makes a replacement steering shaft that is never supposed to wear out. Or you could buy an OEM from the dealer. I believe the Borgeson unit is available through summit.
