Well it's officialy time for me to park the Prelude in the Garage for the Winter and begin it winter long transformation from H23 to VTEC.

This will make car #2 in the Garage undergoing transformation. (300zx to a drift car) I have most of my internals ready (Cams (KMS), Cam Gears (AEM), Valves/Ti Valve Springs/Ti Valve Retainers, Forged Pistons...) and I have my Turbo Kit (Turbonectics T3/T4 hybrid) on Order. The Head is getting ready to go to the Machine shop for cleanage and portage.
The same mechanic is also redoing my block and balancing. He has had MAJOR experieince with Honda's. He owns a Turbo H23 Civic. He also does all tuning work for our local "Tuner" Dealership. Some of the cars he's done can be found Here. He's doing al machining of the motor and helping me install so I can learn more about this motor.

lol i can't VTEC a nissan motor...and i dont think a spec V motor will do any good in a maxima...aren't they only 175 horse to the crank?? the motor i have in it now is probably about that with the thing's i've done to it...maybe a lil less because of the age and mileage on the motor...but im thinkin about rebuildin the engine over the summer or something...im not sure yet...or i might wait and get a new car...

You should use this http://www.grainger.com/images/products/6JT34.JPG to tape the vtec to your engine. It tapes right on just like a supercharger. Just make sure you allign the vtec parallel to the engine or it'll look gay.

Then, you should paint the car to match the color of the 3M tape. It'll look tyte! :biggrin:

The head swap has begun, I purchased the skunk2 Intake manifold for the H22. Once the head is complete, we're putting just the cams, cam gears and IM w/the Auto Tansmission and are hoping to turn at least a 13.9 to shut a certain Civic driver up.

The spec V has cbt which is a form of variable valve timing but the closest thing nissan has to vtech is the sr20ve and sr16ve.

Are the sr20ve and sr16ve phones, because Vtech is. At least you have an excuse, unlike some Civic owners who don't know the difference between vtech and vtec.

Yesterday the head was sent away for Porting. The car now sits at Countryside Automotive accumulating the VTEC parts I am Missing for the swap.

My Timing Gears are AEM's new run of the TruTime Line. I have yet to have any experience with these but I was curious because of the fixed 3 Bolt lock problem which has now been changed to 5.
