Welcome. The wing is designed to fall off at high speeds.

It was originaly designed in 1981 by William J Wing. His son Spoiler Wing and his wife Splitter Wing then carried on the refinement and development of the process.

Rather intersting if you ask me.

Not to sound like an ass, but please link me to where those names are actually used, because they sound to ridiculous to be actual people.

Now I've heard everything :screwy:

Wings are designed to create stability at high speed, a splitter will assist in creating front downforce and the spoiler will assist in creating rear downforce.
Wings on most road cars are more cosmetic than functional.
