Hi All. I have a 1998 scenic which has been going strong for years. However, as of late i have been having problems mainly:-
car can't seem to perform well in low gears and chug chugs a lot
warning light on dashboard, possibly means something electrical has gone wrong. The car also has like a hot smell, but it's not the oil or anything else that I can see.
I've been told it could be the catalitic convertor, or the engine coils. Either way it sounds like it's gonna cost a fortune.
Any one got any ideas? cheers

I have had lots of misfiring problems on my 1.4 Scenic 2001 ,,has been the igniton coils ,(they sit on top of the plugs ,there are 4 of them and cost 55 quid each !!) have replaced 3 so far , the renault guys says they have had LOADS of problems with these coils ,have used 3 separate manufactures >>>>>>

if you want ignition coils go to www.probedistributors.co.uk the charge £60 for four and he will guarantee them for 3 yrs more then renault who wont guarantee them of the forecourt not had any problems since put these ig coils on plus it saved me £160 on getting the crappy sagem coils which always blow

i'm having these problem too
I've checked the coils and i found Coil number 3 is not working as well
so i'm loking for sport coils coz the original coils is expensive
