Hello all. I was driving my 88 944 8v last night coming back from playing football when right out of the blue, with a big bang i might add, my gear stick came off in my hand, and there was a lot of banging and er well banging coming from under the car, so i pulled over, ok i had too. The car was running fine and would select 1st as normal and would start to move off as i would lift my foot off the clutch, then it would make the banging again and the wheels would lock up. I tried to pull it but the car would not move with the engine running, and this would have been a problem, no PAS or SERVO, so i had it lifted. So i know what i'm doing today when i get in work, removing my box!

Oopsie........
That reminds me of when I was helping my friend change the input seals for the front and rear axle on his Jeep CJ.......Ole Skip was awfully enthusiastic when it came to tightening the yoke nut in my absence. Needless to say his jeep ended locking up from ringnpinion floating in the oil.
Sorry
On the bright side, at least you didnt need the fire department.............
