Is there a way to lean out my car or something? It seems that since it has been getting a bit cold that my car is running extra rich. Everytime I start my car up I leave black sooty shit were my car was. My car still runs great and all and it doesnt smoke or anything when I drive it. Its mainly just when I start it up, or when I blip the throttle a few times when parked.

Yeah mine seems to do the same thing. Let me know if you find out any info on the cause of it!

you changed the plugs etc lately and given it a good service? shoudl be worth a try , the engines should adjust thereselves to the temp etc as the air density will be different etc

Yeha i have changed plugs, wires, cap etc. But i havent adjusted the timing..... havent given it a real in depth tune up,but im still averaging 19-20 mpg which is horrible considering my cars so light. I just cant figure it out i have the hf body with d16a6 swap. Things seem right. cept for the vaccum llines but it was having shitty gas mileage before the lines got twisted!?

yea, my car's been running super rich too. i dont like to fill up more than once a week, haha. i'm thinking that it's probably a bad 02 sensor because i've given it a few tune ups but havent touched my 02 sensor yet.

^^^ Same here, mine is always rich. And everyday now, driving from school, my check engine light comes on about the 02 sensor. They're pesky little buggers, aren't they?

the weird thing is tho....i checked my spark plugs and they're white. so that means my engine is running lean and hot......but why is my car running rich then?! :dunno:

white plugs could also mean your burning coolent
