trans am ?s

How much is a trans am/w a 350 fuel injected in not very good condition. Can you get something decent for about 1500? Are they easy to work on? How expensive is it to do a swap to a 5 sp. since you could'nt get 350s with sticks. Lookin for a second car in about a 1 yr...once i finish up with my mustang

1987-90 You could probably be found if you look hard enough in the 1500 -2000 range and the 5 sp wasn't used with the 350 for a reason even though its basically a easy swap. The 5 sp don't hold up to large amounts of torque veyr well. If your looking for a stick I recommend uping your budget and going 93 + LT1 6 speed.

Sorry savage but third Gens never came with the 350. Only Auto's came with the 350. If he has one them he must have had it swapped in place of a auto or its a 305 and he just told you it was a 350.

I've never done the swap but if you want the 350 TPI and then want to pay to do a 6 speed swap its going to come out costing more and alot of work than just buying a 93 + LT1 6 speed F-body but if you would like to see what you can get a 6 speed for check out www.car-parts.com .

Third Gen 350's came with a 6-speed, only a handful, 25 to be exact. The last year of the 3rd gen, they made 25 Firehawks that had the L98 350 and the ZF 6-Speed manual from the factory. So TECHNICALLY some 3rd gen 350's had manual's. After all I AM Technical Automan. :biggrin:

the 6 sp. wont bolt right up to the 3rd gen will it??I really want a 3rd gen cause even though they are slower I think the look cooler..

Yes The corvete used the 6 speed with the L98 block and the LT1 has the same bolt pattern but the hard part is the fabrication work with the pedal and misc. parts install
