I am so friggin sick of my neighborhood. I can't wait to move the fluck out of here!!!! Some asshole decided to steal my car stereo last night along with a digital camera I had in the car.
This is for anyone out there that gets a thrill out of stealing off of people that work their ass off to get the things they have...
FUCK YOU!!!! YOU PIECE OF SHIT!!!!

Man, I feel your pain. I hate thieves so much I've invested in a LOT of video gear. I've put quite a few of them away, and so have my friends. My buddy just got some arrested this morning. ALL were strung out on meth.

That sucks. Go with the video for sure. Hopefully the cops could get some fingerprints, lot of good it usually does though.

Well for one you gotta keep the honest people honest and the thief's and real criminals sperate. Before someone criminal does something he does three things: First he looks for an opprutunity second he asses whether he will make a profit third he or she will determine the chances of getting caught and will the risk be worth it. You gave them the opportunity, then you gave them the stuff to make the profit. You basically helped out a criminal. Sorry to put it so rough and blunt. But you set yourself up in my eyes. I dont leave anything valuable in my car anywhere. I will put my text books etc in my trunk where it won't be seen. That is probably the most expensive things in my car. If it is more valuable then that it will stay home or at a friend's house or in the safe down at my friend's farm. Hopefully you learned a lesson. Sorry for your losses. Good luck in getting your stuff back and busting the hooligan or perp who burglerized you.

We've got like 10 video cameras around my house since we got vandalised over the summer. They get turned on by motion sensors, so far we've only caught a lot of deer, a dog or 4, and my neighbor taking 2 of my mom's tomatoes...we gave him a hard time about that.

I hate thieves too. I had my car stolen, and it ended up being a guy at work. Cops didn't have enough evidence to convict him. And I still work with the guy. It's f*cked up.

lol that's odd, a neighbor just walkin in and taking 2 tomatoes... I would have given that neighbor a beatdown

Watch that tomato-stealer. Crooks do odd little things just to check out the cameras' range, or to see if they are for real. One common thing is to stand by your fence and rattle the gate, like they are looking for "John." Really, they are checking for dogs and to see if anyone is home. I suspect EVERYONE. And most break-ins are from neighbors.

Most thieves are lazy. If they weren't, they would go and work like the rest of us.
Make the break and enter too much like real work (good secure locks, doors etc, nothing in plain sight) and they lose interest.
Also I agree, many thieves have some sort of inside knowledge or familiarity with your place, like neighbours. So keep the good stuff out of sight and don't tell the neighbours your business, and especially don't brag about anything.

its funny but i don't think any of you have mentioned getting an alarm system. I would think that would be the first step before going as extreme as cameras and otehr stuff :grinno:
sorry to hear about the break in dude, but theres nothing you can do about it, its just the way it goes. might wanna think about a detacheable face headunit for your car this time, it'll definitely stop anyone from taking the headunit if theres no face on it.

But don't be like 80% of the people who own detachable face units and leave the face in their glove box or under their sit. Thieves will still try to get you stereo cause chances are people are to lazy to carry the face into the house. Also, get an alarm on the car.

Alarm systems are expensive and complicated, no-one listens to them unless you pay for expensive monitoring, and cops get pissed about false alarms. I've got an entire system sitting in a box out back.
Cameras are inexpensive, and the bad guys and the cops can't dispute video evidence.I've NEVER had to testify, the shitheads always plead guilty, lol. No lawyer will let a jury see a tape with his client on it. I say cops too, because I had one tape go missing because the burglars uncle was a police major. After that, I have someone from the prosecuters office sign a receipt for them, which they gladly do. Just make sure the date and time are on the tape, or it will be disputed. So far, I have a 100% conviction rate. My score so far: 2 auto thieves
2 drive-by shooters plus two accomplices
1 burglar, but he was one of the shooters that the that the cop major got off. He finally got 5 years.
And finally, Too many drug dealers to count.
The locals call me the "camera-man." Some hate me for it, but who gives a shit?

I did, but not because of the crime. It is actually a nice neighborhood, just had a bad period in the nineties when drug dealers thought it would be a great area to set up business. I'm stubborn and refused to give in to hoodlums. Three clues to tell if you have a drug operation in your neighborhood. Abandoned cars, missing street signs, and broken windows that go unrepaired. I had so many cars towed the city finally gave me the fax number so they could tow ten at a time.. They thought they'ed harass me, but I made them my hobby, and they gave up. Try it, it's fun. I just bought a dvd digital video camera to mount in my van, and I'm gonna start running the shitbums out of this town too. My friend is already set up and he's gotten about ten chronics locked up for various charges. drug dealing, vandalism, even a robbery. Beats watching TV.
