Alternator problems?

I was wondering if this sounds like an alternator problem, I thought my radio was messed up because it would never come on, but if I turn my vehicle completely off, then turn the key to start but not start it, I can turn my radio on and I can here music, it makes popping sounds like my antenna isnt hooked up, but it is, does anybody thinks this is a possible alternator problem, or do I need to give up on my electrical problems and let it go. If ANYBODY can help me please, I would be ever so grateful. Thanks

not an alt. concern sounds like radio is not wired in correct

have you installed an aftermarket stereo or are you working with the stock radio? either way check the wiring and the fuses. I just put an aftermarket stereo in my rodeo and had some problems with the wiring. The stereo was getting power (could insert and eject CDs but nothing else) and it turned out I had a blown fuse...
