I was just wondering, what kind of stereo systems does everyone have? Head unit, subs, amps, speakers, etc.
I just order 2 12" Kicker Solo Baric L7's and a Blaupunkt Sacramento head unit. All for a good price, too.

And yes I do know for some people, systems are nothing more than added weight.

I have a kenwood kdc-x869 deck(lovem), Kenwood 4 channel 640watt amp for my mids and highs, Rockford Fosgate 1100a2 for my sub(the old skool ones, can you say power hog), 12'' rockford Fosgate hx2 in a rhino lined ported box(man does that thing rattle the fuck out of my car), Logic 6x9's,a and audio pipe 6.5 components. It bumps like hell and sounds clear.

i got a clarion hu, jbl 6 1/2 out back and blaupunkt 6 1/2 in front. For subs Im running 2 pheonix digital 12" squares (the only solo baric knock off i think is any good.. well sorth the 39 dollars a piece) in a custom built by me box powered buy a mono block 800 watt rms audiobahn intake series amp. I have the subs about 6-8 inches under the hatch window... hit like crazy...
in the future.. imma switch to 2 actual kicker l7 12's, getting a set of spl 6.5 coponents for front, dont know what kind yet but i will put some 6x9's out back.. and im getting a audiobahn intake series 400 watt rms (100x4 rms) 4 ch to power them...

this seams like as good a place as any to ask. sorry if i hijack the thread. does anybody know of a good site that talk about the differences in sound between sealed/ported/bandpass boxes? im planning on doing a custom fiberglass enclosure eventually but i dont know what the different types sound like. im not looking for a really loud system just want some more kick in the bass end. ill probably use either a 8 or 10 since i heard that at lower power in a car 8 or 10s will sound better and because they'll take up less space.

I think the JL site does a good bandpass explanation, but it's been a while.
I have an Alpine mp3, stock infinity speakers, rockford amp, and JL 15'' or infinity 12'' depending on what mood im in.

www.sounddomain.com (http://www.sounddomain.com) has a forum, I'm sure you can find some good explanations there.

Yeah, mine was stolen in like may or something. I tried getting the money back for it but Geico found every loophole in their system to not pay me the money. Those punks wanted to steal my whole car, but the irresponsible garage never tightened my intake cam so it went right back there after it didn't start. Maybe they'll realize that a car is sitting outside of a shop for a reason. Assholes.:iceslolan

There actually really good if you dont have an external power source running to them (i.e. Amp, Crossover .etc) There clear on sound too. Best 25 bucks i spent in a while.

CrutchField has a decent explination of the pros and cons.
Sealed has the best thump/sound but needs more power.
Ported is more effecient, but lacks clarity. Bandpass is somewhere in the middle.
Also if you are building you're own: http://www.ajdesigner.com/speaker/index.php
One other thing, Build with particle board, (Small fibers) and glass over. The dense wood is better at preventing that loose, rattleing terrible response that is simlual to taking the baffles out of a bass drum. Hint, if you're into hip hop, this may be your ticket, but if you expect sound quality, go sealed, with dense wood.

i have an Alipine 1385 MP3 deck, with a 4 channel digital cross over, and digital time correction. running 60 wattsx4.
car came with the Infinity premium audio system with an amp. sounds pretty decent, has nice speaker placement.
running a single 12" Diamond Audio TDX 4 (1600 watts RMS) off a Rockford 1000bd amp. have all stinger wireing and a 1 farard stinger capacitor. (but i need like a 5 farad)
sub is mounted to a specialty "lambrinth" ported box. basicly its like bose wave radio tech. it reverses the sound of when the sub goes in, and produces a much high volume with out only focusing on 1 pitch like a normal port doesn.
