I know this sounds like a dumb question... but I just bought a 1990 eclipse and I dont wanna screw it up. It has the radio and tape deck in the console.. and I want to remove the tape deck to put a cd player in... but how do I remove it? I don't wanna just start pulling things apart and break something. So if someone could give me some help I would GREATLY appreciate it. Thanks guys!

the trim ring around the stereo will pop out if you gently pry it loose around the edges. then its just four screws that hold the radio brackets in place. take them out and pull the whole stereo assembley out bolt your new one to the brackets and get a wiring harness adaptor. i wont tell you the color codes cuz i dont know them and i hate when people hack it together instead of buying the 2 dollar connector. itas much easier to do anything with if you can just unplug it when you want to take it out.

Use the manual for the wire colors from the car, and use the instruction book you SHOULD have for the stereo for the rest. It may have been rewired(also check for little flags on the wires.
