1996 Groaning Engine Noise

Hello,
I have a 1996 GP SE with a 3.4. When I start it, it makes a "groaning" noise coming from the engine compartment, seems to disappear after about 5 minutes. It happens always when the engine is cold and sometimes when the engine is warm? Anybody have any ideas on what this is? Thanks for you help!

Yopu might want to check your power steering fluid leve.
Sometimes a low fluid level will make the power steering pump groan.
Sometimes a low fluid level will make the power steering pump groan.

Yeah Id start with PS fluid too.
Might not even be anything really wrong with it.
I had a couple of Nissan 240sx's that groaned when it was cold out, were that way for over a year with no problems though.
