Rough Idle...Need Help

While driving, my car started to act up. I was at a stop and all of a sudden the idle got very rough, the RPM's were bouncing up and down and the lights were dimming. Im thinking its the distributor. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thank You

check for vacume leaks, take a propane bottle, turn the gas on(don't lite!!!!!) turn your car on and move the bottle all around your vacume hoses. if you have a leak your idle will jump afew rpm's and repair that hose. if it's not that, check your plugs and wires, air and fuell filters and all the little matinance that should be done every year anyways
