Brakes

I have never been that impressed with the brakes on my monte (96) and I am considering putting vented rotors and composite pads on it. Anyone ever try this? It's not that much extra money, but I'm wondering if it's worth it. Thanks for the input.

i have slotted/drilled rotors on my 02 and they do help slightly. i notices the biggest diffs exiting the freeway/highway and in wet road conditions.

unless you really drive it hard, I wouldn't bother. The rear brakes(if you have rear drum) are famous for not adjusting very well causing a spongy pedal. Take it out every once in a while in an open parking lot, get cruising in reverse, and hammer the brakes. Do this a few times and it should adjust the rears and bring the pedal up.

I have been meaning to do the reverse thing for a while. The problem is, there's always some people nearby, and I feel like an idiot cruising in reverse and hammering on the brakes. I'll find a remote spot and do it, because I don't feel like getting under the car to do it manually.
