I have an extended cab 2 door 1998 chevy c1500. I have found some custom enclosures advertised that say they fit under the seat. Ive measured the dimensions under my seat and read the dimensions of the box, and i just dont know if it will fit. holds a 10'' under back passenger side seat and under back driver side seat.

If this doesnt, let me know if there is one that does fit. thanks. oh and i have taken out the jack holder, so its clear under the seat.

I would check out www.jlaudio.com for options on a sub box. I bought a down firing molded plastic box that fits under the left rear seat. I opted to keep my jack in it's original location. I am more than happy with the bass output. If you buy the unit that is listed on ebay, and if you ever have anyone ride in back, they will kick the speakers in. The wooden box that you are looking at actually sticks out by about an inch and a half. Looks retarded if you ask me. I wanted everything in my truck to look stock. I am not about to advertise the small fortune I spent in stereo equipment and let someone come in and break into my truck. I learned this lesson the hard way when my former vehicle was broken into, and for only a $50 pioneer sub and $100 amp! Needless to say, if you want the bass go for two 10's, but I think you will be really surprised with what one sub can do. I am already planning to brown bread(www.b-quiet.com) my interior because it rattles the panels just behind the driver's seat. I only run 200 watts rms also to my sub and it's not even a JL sub! It's a lightning audio 10 inch sub I bought at Wal-Mart! Lightning Audio is a subsidiary of Rockford Fosgate if you didn't know, so I figured the sub would be of decent quality. Man, was I surprised at it's performance. Maybe it's the enclosure. One last item, JL also offers a steath box that takes the lower half of your center console if you have bucket seats. If you have a bench seat, your out of luck on that one. If your wondering if forward firing subs would be better, let me tell you that I have a friend with that setup, and he says that he wishes he had my setup now. His subs overpower the rest of his system even with the amps turned WAY down! Hope this helps your decision.
