I believe you can attach any cd changer to that system. If you are wondering what brand to purchase, you might want to look at Pioneer, Clarion, or JVC. I wouldn't get a Sony.

there are nissan factory changers that will plug into your 2001 maxima headunit. there were 3 different 2001 cd changer systems in 2001 maxima so you would need to know which changer works on the bose system . am fm changer would give far inferior sound as the bose amp would thInk an fm station was playing and would not turn on to full fidelity. only when you key up the cd changer would the bose amp come on to full fidelity. go on caR-PART.COM AND PUT IN YOUR 2001 MAXIMA UND SELECT CD/RADIO PART AND A MULTITUDE OF SALVAGE YARDS WITH YOUR CHANGER WILL COME UP. THAN GET THE ONE THAT CAME OUT OF A 2001 WITH YOUR SAME RADIO.

go to crutchfield.com and put in the make and model of your car, they'll list all the speakers, cd changers, head units, etc. that will work with your system.
