I have had my motor mount, the bottom motor mount on the drivers side - right next to the tire, broken or not in very good shape for a little while now. I have the new motor mount but their is a problem. When i first tried to remove the old mount, the nut just spinned. It did not unscrewed but just spun in one place. I tried to force it from the back but it looked like it was getting worse.
I know its possible to just remove the nut and re-thread it, but i want to know should I re-thread it or do something else. Please help.

HAHA I'm in the process of fixing this on mine aswell. You have to cut a slot in the sub-frame and get in there. What happened is the nut was spot welded in place in three spots. It ended up breaking lose and well yeah. The only problem is tring to get at the front nut. I ended up breaking the bolt and just replacing it. Good luck, it isn't that hard.

Wow wow wow. I never said i was not able to reach the nut. I can reach it perfectly fine and use a wrench to get it. In fact, i was able to remove it before when i had to change my belts. I think the guy that put the nut back on used the power tool a little too long and stripped it. So now it just spins freely.

Maybe its different from my car. Cuz on my 96 civic ex its a Bolt that threads into a nut. The nut is inclosed and welded to the subframe, so i couldnt' get at it. Now are you talking about the bolt head being rounded or ..???

That is what the part looks like. The left part got messed up and the bolt would just spin on it.

Ah my mistake. I was thinking of the bolt that holds it to the body not to the motor.
