95 Gs?

hey guys
how much do you think is fair for selling my 95 gs.... its in great shape, paint is glossy and everything, red.... replaced radiator and coolant hoses and thermo gasket, replaced right halfshaft, new cd player, all new midrange speakers all around, dual 12" subs w/amp in trunk, 5sp, full compression, smooth at 90mph.... the only thing wrong is 140k miles.... just wondering what you think i should be able to get for it.

i'm only getting 5500 out of my 98 gs with 101k on it. and my engine paint everything was in great condition plus i had a cf hood, battle z front, and halo projectors on it. then i had the leather interior, amplified infinity system with pioneer head unit, pioneer mids replacing the factory speakers. the only thing i took out was my subs.

Yeah, I would keep your head unit and subs (if you still want them) because you DEFINATLY will get more out of them by selling them seperatly. IN other words, you wont get close out of them than what you put into them. Or if you dont wanna em sell seperatly for sure.

I've been doing some SERIOUS research into getting an eclipse from the 95-99 range, and with all you've done for it, i think the MIN. you should offer it up for is 4500. It does have serious miles on it, and it is a '95, but if its in great condition the mileage wont mean much to the buyer. Plus having a nice sound system already in the car is a BIG plus, lord knows how many ppl go to upgrade that FIRST. :cwm27: Ah, i just peeked at it, it appears to be in superb external condition, so you may be able to push that price up to around $5000. Find an eager beaver (like me :iceslolan ) with money (NOT like me :banghead: ).

yeah, i put it up for 4500 but people seem to think the miliage is too much.... how else besides dsmtrader, dsmtuners, cars.com, and local places can i get the word out? i seriously need to sell it as quick as possible, any help would be seriously appreciated.

Well besides all what you said, and local papers. I would have to say Ebay (Ebay motors to be exact.) Or www.autotrader.com is a good one also.

how many of you guys support ebay for selling cars? i've heard mixed reactions, some people dont trust the buyers/sellers, but others say its the best way to get your shit out there..... thoughts?

Ebay is a pain in the ass IMO. I would rather just have someone come look at it, and say yes or no.

For price, you can only get what poeple will pay. Start at 5000, if they complain about the mileage and haggle you down to 4500, take it. It's like houses out here in Mass. People are selling 200,000 dollar houses for 400,000 because there is always some asshole willing to pay that much. Book value on it seems to be closer to the 4000-4500 area though, so be flexible.

I'm hoping your selling to get a turbo DSM though :lol: Good luck.

In My Opinion. And not knowing what a given acronym means doesnt consitute ignorance. ;) Good to see you're staying with DSMs, and a turbo one no less. :)

Ya people really seem to go for stuff on EBAY, one thing though, make sure they're NOT a new ebayer and they have feedback ratings, cuz MANY times ppl will jus make up a new user for the sake of making crazy bids they're not even thinking of paying. But i've never seen a car NOT bid on unless the car's in pieces. Make a reserve, or start the bid around 4,000. You should see results real soon. AUTOTRADER.COM is also an excellent source, though i dont know how successful people are on there with selling their cars. :cwm27:

I put my 240sx on autotrader, got an email from a guy that day, he came and looked at it a day or two later, gave me a deposit, then picked it up the next weekend.

dayna, is that your miata? My dad and i autox his 99 miata, we supercharged it(6psi), have koni adjustables, stiffer sway bar, a lot of other mods and hoosier tires for race day..... do you like yours as much as i do ours?\
