Bad news about my ZC

So I drain the oil and find flakes, lots of little tiny silver flakes.

So does anyone think it would be a good idea to buy a shortblock ZC and use the head I currently have on it, I don't really have time to do a rebuild of the whole motor, So i was thinking just buy a new one and use my current head on it.

Everything that goes with the motor is new and i can just throw on the new motor, Alternator, dizzy, cooling system, tranny.. only thjing that needs replacing is the clutch.

What do you guys think about that idea?

Thanks

you should just rebuild it, parts will run ~$200 and DIY'ing it is easy

um sorry travis, um still want my b18a
LOL
j/k yeah it sold a couple of days ago.\

OMG sorry whoring ur thread but yeah sunday night i was driving about 60, downshifted to 4th (to cut comeone of, of course) then all i hear is kkkkkkk... yeah so i must have ground the teeth of the 4th gear syncro? Well anyway then i hear clunk clunk clunk, and the car dies. And the clutch is jambbed and wont release at all. So i roll over to the side of the road,to find out my timing belt broke-(well actually partialy, but flew off) then the lever where the clutch cables attached to( cant recall what its called) if stuck down, I dont know what else i broke but i cant even move the shifter AT ALL!!!! yeah kinda sucks!!! i dunno it was kinda funny when the tow truck driver literally drug it up on the flatbed!!

thats what ya might find... mine blew the whole back casing off
i've blown 2 diffs now, and both times it locked the shifter, the first time i hammered it around to get it to go into a gear but didnt do crap all lol, the second time it worked fine for 1-4 but wouldnt go into 5 or reverse because something jammed... again... hammered the shifter and heard something else brake when it finally went in lol

okay i didnt know, but literaly the release lever on the clutch i was beating with a friggin hammer and it wouldnt budge, neither did the shifter. Yeah but i checked it out and there are no holes....oh shit this sucks because i dont know what im going to do....Rebuild the a6-(which is unknown on valve bendage!!!) or get another d series or try the b-series again, and hope it doesnt get stolen.... LOL hahaha
j/k

if u need a new d-series head i got one. its off the b2 but the only difference is the cam so u can swap those. its mint, valve seals are new. no bent valves. great condition, re-built less than a year ago. $130 OBO lemme know. i'm flexible on the price

also, sounds like ur trannys royally fucked! the release bearing might have jammed or something or u broke the pressure plate and it jammed then too. ur diff might still be blown tho, when mine went friday there was no hole but still blown diff lol

pm me about that head and let me know tho man.
