02 Sensor???

Can anyone recommend a good online (reputable) dealer to get an o2 sensor for my car from? I've called around here and they range anywhere from $41.99 CDN (Universal where you have to splice the wires) to $251.75 at Honda...average is $103.53 CDN (before taxes). Some have told me just go with the universal...it's the plastic plug that goes in the wire harness that cost's so much...but...I'm not sure...help!

Id just go oem from honda, they seem to give the best results as far as reliability, i went through 2 bosch o2 in a month....

Ya a oem honda one would be best. You shouldnt have to pay 241$ you can find cheaper than that.

If you have deep pockets go for the one from Honda. If not, get the cheaper one. I'm using a Bosch one cuz I don't have deep pockets. I doubt it makes much difference for OBD0... And can somebody please verify if Bosch makes all the sensors?

They make most, but not all.

NGK makes some as well that I know of...

Why wouldn't it make a difference for OBD0? I know it's effecting my gas mileage..for sure.

Not sure if any other OBD... use single wire O2 sensors like ours do...
My gas mileage varies, but isn't terribly bad... just when I put my foot into it :naughty: BTW, I used a burnt to hell O2 sensor for about a year and car ran ok most of the time.

The car seems to be "running" fine...it's just the gas mileage is brutal (300kms per tank)...my old STD used to get 500+ kms/tank...(Now have STD's D15B1 in my si...long story...with the si MPFI on it)...I was told when I swapped this engine in...9 months ago...that I should replace the sensor...just never did and eventually forgot about it.

my 02 sensor isnt even wire up and my car runs fine and i think im getting the gas mileage i should be, 30-35mpg city and highways

You're losing a little in gas mileage cuz you now have 2 more injectors with your mpfi. Switch out your O2 sensor with a cheap one... just splice it in and reset your ECU.

Well...I figured that...how do I know for sure that my sensor is done? Is there any clear indication?

I don't think so, because the cat comes after the o2 sensor (unless you have a precat and postcat double o2 sensor set up). O2 sensors work best when hot. My air/fuel gauge always reads lean upon first start up until I get the o2 sensor nice and hot... usually when I put my foot into it, it'll pick up a correct reading. I thought I was in trouble with the red light continuously blinking on my gauge but it turned out it was just a bad ground on my accessory electronic fuse pad.

So do you suggest in buying a fuel pressure regulator to help lean out my car?
