Has anyone had any success replacing just the headlamp bulb rather than the entire headlight? Is the bulb heat sealed onto the housing?

It is a weak foam/glue sealing the bulb and colar just twist it off I did yesterday replace with 9006 bulbs alot cheaper than the original units.

Actually if you have a 96 Cutlass Supreme... there isnt really a way to do that without breking glass, but you can modify the mount to support a later model cutlass with a plastic housing. i havent done it yet, but if its works for you let me know

I have a 96 Cutlass and I took the lights out of the glass housings and replaced with 9006 bulbs. You unscrew/pull the plastic retaining collar off pull the bulb out and put the 9006 bulb in. If you file/grind the tabs off the 9006 bulb you can reuse the plastic collar I used electric tape to retain and seal the bulb to glass housing I was in a hurry. But it can be done I did it in less then 10 mins.
