location of rear main seal

I was wandering where the rear main seal is located on a 95 cavalier 2.2 if anyone could help id appreciate it alot

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe its between the engine and transmission somewhere, and engine needs to be pulled to replace it.

Ther rear main is on the rear (tranny side) of the crankshaft.

the main seal is a major project.if it's only seeping a bit, you can buy seal conditioner and add it to your oil . it works on small leaks , but if it's leaving small puddles under the car when it sits awhile,the engine will have to be pulled.
this is not a job for a novice, you'd be better off to get it done by a mechanic as you may need a puller or other specialty tools.mike

NEVER use this stuff. It stops the leaks by softening the seals. Shortly after using it you will have leaks everywhere. As for pulling the engine. This is rarely required. But you will need a lot of tools and usually a lift to support the tranny. You seperate the two and slide them apart but you will need to remove the mount on the drivers side. A lot of work for a $5 part. Good Luck.
