do we have any model contests in the works around here?

what about the contest of the year or what ever, we used to have a big contest near the end of the year.

AFMOTY...I dont think its happening this year after last years "disaster/controversy".

I have been giving it alot of thought about doing it again. (It takes up a heap of time!!)
I'm still pissed off about the actions of people last year saying it was rigged and how i cheated blah blah blah :rolleyes: :banghead:

Knowing me i'll probably do it again though :grinno: as it would be a shame to end it after two years. IMO its the one contest i'd love to win as it has become so huge in such a short time.

Give me a few more days to have a think about it and i'll post a thread with my answer and the rules.

How about a contest of Pikes Peak cars. Kind of fantasy cars. Haven't seen them much. Everybody makes a car that could participate on that magical event.

Maybe after this years and lemans contests.

that would be awesome. i know i dont have a chance at winning, my models are nothing compared to the works of art coming from the members on this site. but i've been wanting to enter a contest. just for fun

And oh yeah, lets have the AFMOTY contest. I love seeing all the models, any true modeler here knows that they are not rigged, and that the best ones do win. And even if we dont have a contest lets at least have a display of all the best cars.

I've only been here at AF for a while, i haven't heard of this AFMOTY contest. Sounds good though. Is it split up into motorsports and street, curbside and engine?

I think though that we should get the LM contest out the way before another contest like this, maybe we could have a street forum contest aswell, i would certainly enter.

Hey Pman, I would be certainly willing to help you in any way possible in running the AFMOTY, even if you just decided to give me your continuity file and have me do it! I think the AFMOTY is a great asset and a great way to exhibit our best works, and a great community builder. Therefore, I am willing to do what I can to get it to happen.

i'd like to see a "concept car" contest...where fictional cars from cutting up different kits would compete

I'd love to see/compete in a contest, I asked the guys at our local Hobby Town USA if they had model contests and they said there's not enough interest locally :mad: so this might be my only chance.

AFMOTY should definitely happen again :) It is PMan's baby but if he doesn't want to run it then I'm sure somebody else will. I'll even volunteer to do it, should worst come to worst. Maybe we could discuss how best to run things this time so as to avoid any petty sniping like last year.
