I have to admit, I am way too lazy to look stuff up, but I do have a suggestion. THe best (from waht I hear) would be the taser, or phaser or some shit like that. What it does it takes the radar signlas from the police gun, reverse it, tehn send back the opposite wave pattern, thereby canceling the wave itslef. It is fairly simple circuit, you could make it on your own if you felt the need too. The price though, compared to other detectors, you will have to borrow some legs from firends, and your moms arm. It makes it so the can not see your speed, but if you are blatantly speeding you still get pulled over for excessive speed. If you get pulled over by any cop who is not a dumbass, you are screwed though. There is a company that makes one that will pay your ticket if you get one with it installed.

Anything that transmits a wave like that violates federal law. Most police departments now have guns that tell if the signal is being blocked or retransmitted. If you get caught you just jumped from a speeding ticket to jail time. The best radar detector though is the valentine v1 but be ready to spend $400 and the price never goes down even used ones on ebay go for $400 because valentine gurantees them for life and will update the unit for free when a new one comes out.

Why have a radar detector at all if not to avoid a ticket. Hell if you are trying to go to jail just floor it all the time and raise a one finger salute to any cop who tried to pull you over.

i have a valentine and it has saved my ass soo many times. I always seem to be running late and i do a lot of interstate travel and this thing has already paid for itself, probably twice. As far as the jammer is concerned i dont know fore sure but i think when the transmission hits the radar gun it causes an error which makes it say your speed is 99....which if your on the interstate might not be a good thing. Also i have a friend who has a jammer and he got a ticket for wreckless driving since they couldnt get him for speeding, but its your choice

I think the best detector is - setting the cruise control. If you don't want to get caught speeding, just set the cruise to the speed limit or 5mph above and you shouldn't have any problems. Crank up the stereo and enjoy the ride. You'll even save gas by doing so.
On the other hand, I know how hard it is to have an RSX and drive the speed limit. You'll see everyone pass you by and wonder why you bought the car!

Yeah. Those little pricks who really test your pride, patience and maturity...you know the ones. They come bombing up in their Civics, Tiburons, Celicas etc with the garbage can muffler tips and ride your ass or get up right next to you and look over. You know they think they can take you. They want to see what you've got. You know you could utterly destroy them. You're common sense is at war with your right foot...should you do it? Argh.

That was beautiful *tear*...I cant remember the last time I actually drove the speed limit...its quite hard in a car thats not a beater... As for radar detectors Valentine is the one I have heard the best about, followed closely by passport...My old man got pulled over this week and he said the cop had a different detector that wasnt radar based.......me worried

You could just do what I usually do when they pull up beside you, look over at them, look at their car and start laughing like you cant stop, they usually get pissed off and drive off, or yell shit at you, but they usually do drive off and it makes me feel happy to see pissed off kids in their honda civic with about 108whp and a huge wing thats painted a different color.

Wow that's a thought! I'll have to try this next time someone is tailgating me and decides to pull up next to me. I normally just ignore them as they pass me by since they're already ticked off that I'm doing the speed limit.
No one over here drives less than 15 mph over the limit. But the police in the county I live in have nothing else to do but put up speed traps everywhere. So I have to watch my speedometer quite a bit! And setting the cruise control is a big help.

Yep! My right foot took over a few times. Then when you look at the speedometer and your brain kicks in "Whoa, slow down there!" It's truly a battle between brain and foot! :grinyes:
