Well I have an alpine headunit and an equalizer display thing where the stock head unit was.
My turbo timer I have in the center console, there is a hole in the bottom, so you can run the wiring right in...and it is out of sight.
I've seen some put the boost controller and safc in the glove box, that way they can tune in the car, but they remain out of sight.
You can also mount some on the dash, or behind the steering wheel.
Here they mounted the SAFC over the air-vents directly below the stock 3 center gauges: http://www.stealth316.com/2-safcii-instal.htm
At the bottom of this page, Erik Gross mounted a boost controller, turbo timer, aftermarket headunit, and something else in the stock headunit space: http://www.team3s.com/~egross/3S/Mods/TT/TTimer/index.html

you can afix some velcro to the back of the safc and put velcro somewhere around the A/C controls and the center vents. i saw that setup last weekend; a guy had his SAFC velcroed to the center console there, but since it was velcroed, he could remove the SAFC and put it elsewhere out of sight when not using it.

There is a girl in my school with a 3000gt(i know) and she has a head unit where here middle vents were for the A/C. Just looking around in mine thats almost perfect bcus its right in front of you. Might be a weird conversion though.

are you sure she put a head unit where the A/C vents are??? because there's room for 2 head units where the stock double-din radio is, below the A/C controls. And why would someone put a head unit in a place where they would have to remove the A/C ducts and vents? (unless of course her car was strictly for racing, in which case she wouldn't need the A/C) ?!?!
check up on that, it seems pointless, or just stupid, to remove the A/C vents and put a head unit there.

The links I posted have pics...try looking up directions for installing each of these things, then you will find pics of how and where people got them to fit.

About putting the headunit in place of the vents, alot of people have done that. A car doesnt have to be for racing only. Why would you put a headunit in a race only vehicle anyway? As I told you in IM's thats what I would do. Put the headunit in place of the center vents then you have a large area where teh double din unit was to place your controllers.

You wouldn't put a head unit in a racing only car, but IF you put a headunit IN PLACE OF the center A/C vents, then you obviously don't care much about the A/C, and so most cars that don't care about A/C are full blown race cars...that's what i meant.

The center vents arent all that important. I have seen A LOT of 3000gt's and Stealths alone with this done and some of them even live in TX and AZ.
