Wiper motor troubles (58' beetle)

To Whom It May Concern:
I recently had trouble with a running lite problem on my beetle and was able to get the problem repaired. Now my wiper motor is out. When you pull on the switch - the blades don't move at all. I am pretty sure the problem is an electrical issue. I had the windshield washer unit working as well, but the washer container lost all the pressure and that was end of that story. Oddly, fluid was running into the dashboard below the wiper switch before the washer unit quit.
How can I trouble shoot the wiper motor problem? I do have an OHMM (spelling?) Meter.
Any words of wisdom in the house?
Thanks,
Casey Bond

Get a manual with a good wiring diagram. Most common problems are corrosion on the fuses & holders and bad grounds. As for the washer, it sounds like the switch failed as water leaked into the dash.
