i have a 65 and it needs a new distributor the one that is in it is the origanal and hasnt been touched since it is new i cant get it to budge i was wondering if there is anything i can do to get it out without tearing it all to peices

Nothing that I know of I they, are supose to just pull out, but because they are made of alumminum and corrode to the block. I had the same problem on my '68 Galaxie and eventually it broke trying to get it out.

they twist out. the gear at the end has teeth that almost thread the thing in. make sure you put the new one in the same way or it'l never time correctly.

Aluminum does have a sticky affect to cast. you might jar it pretty good with a mallet. A brand new vacuum advance points distributor is like $30 bucks max.
