I don't think so , i'll probably restore her and keep her in 100% stock and original shape... But it's the hardest car to drive you can think of... Belive me this turbo starts a real fury when you press the gas... it's so big adrenaline rush... The wheels are nice , for a 22 year old car... ...
I see you got nice cars too , a 911 RS  ... Z1 , also rare and nice , and XJS - classic... Got any pics?

Yep , it's my first 911 , but now if things will be somehow good , then maybe a 993 cabriolet , or possibilly turbo will be in my stable too. And this turbo is really raw , wild , it's amazing:bandit:

Thanks , this is place is called "Van Zweden Porsche specialist" and yeah , there are a lot of cars like that , but they're unbeatable when it comes to parts , they have everything , for every porsche and they have it now... The cool thing is this is a company founded by Van Zweden brothers (two of them) and they do everything , they are bosses and they do everything around the cars , no other staff... I've talked to them and they say that porsches are the passion of their lives and they couldn't be more happy than working on them all the time... They drive 930 turbos and 964 RS...

Tom, if you want a 968 TS, you can build one starting from a 924S for less than a used 968. PM me if you'd like details.

How much was it. They are pretty hard cars to drive I believe the 73 911 S was harder to drive esp. the RS. I drove the 930 before it is some ride love the way it holds the ground. I like the oversteer it great see in the 911s you drive the car around turns using the gas more less steering wheel. I dislike the front engine Porsches after owning 2 of them. Can't Wait til I sell the 951 that I have and save up for a year for an 911.

What don't you like about the front engined cars? I know the 924 doesn't have enough power, and that the 944 has too much weight... What about the 968?
Seb928S@af
04-12-2002, 08:42 PM
Just the front engines that's it and not an Flat 6 air/oil cooled engine in the rear. I love the 911s cars they are so much fun to drive. Btw the 944 is heavy esp. the turbo it has a better ratio power to weight then the 968.

Yeah, but the 968 motor is a lot smoother, with better torque. I like the turbo 968. It was only 2800 lbs, so that is about right for a street car with 400 ftlbs of torque. At least my turbo will have 400ftlbs.

I expect 500 ... around 540 hp and 500 ftlbs... In the best setting , i think i'll install some kind of computer so for normal driving i can go like 1 bar or even less , and 1.5 when i want to go crazy...

Yeah, but this will be my daily driver. I only plan to run 0.5 bar of boost on the street. On the track... maybe 1.5... I plan on surpising a few 996 GT2 and GT3s, as well as the odd Ruf Turbo, maybe a few tuner specials as well. While they make nearly as much power, the 968 has a much broader powerband(if you stick with the stock cams and similar curves), and a much lower weight. With rear seats and all the interior, it should tip the scales at roughly 2650 lbs. Thats what...1200 kilos?

Yo , i'm gonna just put the new engine to my 952 , because everything else is in there already... Only i'll change the brakes for some 993TT , but the M030 suspension with koni coilovers is there already , I'll just get a rebuild package from 944 to 968 made of fiberglass , so it'll save me weight , mostly of the front , so i can throw away this 20 kg ballast that is on the rear side in the trunk...

Thats a good idea. I have my eye on a 924S parts car in Arizona, but I have to drive down and take a look. Need a buyer for your 951 motor? I can find several.
The 944 will probably weigh a bit more though, because it's a convertable. While you've got the body off, be sure to weld in a very good roll cage.

The problem is that i'm located here in good ol' Europe , so i think I'll find someone for my 952 motor here... shipping would kill the deal... It's a 952 not 951 motor.... Yeah the convertible is a bit heavier , but it's also very stiff and more stable then coupes because of the dual and harder floor panels... I don't really know how to explain it good , but porsche made it really stiff stock , because of the lack of roof and roll bar , and with this new Suspension , sway bars , and 18" tires it's really going like on rails... Btw you want the Powerhaus K-29? How much is it? I hope below 2k $... I also find Garret T04 hybrids better for daily driving , because they make more torque in the low revs below 2500 and still go well over 500 hp... I don't really know... Btw if i get a 968 3.0 Motor here plus maybe the 6-speed transmission with LSD , how much would cost the package to turbocharge the engine... I mean only turbine itself , intercooler , Blowoof valve , Headers , and rods... The rest like intake , exhaust , spark plugs , wiring etc. I can get here... Or will I need a stronger and better balanced engine block and pistons also?

Your stock block, pistons, motronic, heads, crank and accessories will be fine up to 600hp. I don't know about any more than that.
The cost of the turbo and IC depends greatly on who you get it from and what you want. The header will have to be custom made, which will run you about 500-750 euros. You can get a brand spankin new Spearco IC from ebay for about 300 euros. The turbo and IC pipes will have to custom made as well. If you get them all done at the same exhaust shop, you'll get a better deal.
The turbo is going to be the expensive part here... You have to pick what you want. You could probably get a really good Garrett T4 or T04 for not a lot. These are pretty much one of the best turbos you can get, they flow a lot, don't take too long to spool up, etc.
Again, try Ebay if you are looking to save. If you buy a new turbo, it'll cost a bit more, but you know it has a warranty and no kms on it.
For the sort of power you're talking about, a T4 sounds about right. You'll also need a custum chip to control the turbo and give the motor more fuel. You can get one from Kokeln, they have the best Turbo 968s I have seen a shop do.
The most important thing to remember is to get a full engine stud kit. The 968 motor was not originally designed to have that sort of boost put through it. That doesn't mean it won't be able to handle it, but it will need head studs and intake and exhaust manifold studs. ARP makes the best studs, and it'll be a couple hundred for a full set.
The Carrillo rods are $2000 US a set from Kokeln. www.kokeln.com
They make 550hp 968's with everything stock except for the rods and the fuel injectors.
