Well tonight wasnt good i was sick and coming home i pull of the highway on a dirt road and i accidentally hit the gas instead of the brakes. i fishtale Bad and hit a running board on a trailer. no damage happen to my truck or the tailer, But the guy wants to get 35$ out of me and i didnt have it. He then said he was gonna call the cops and i guess he did because i just left.
Is there anything the cops can do?

if he got your lisence plate # you're screwed because leaving the scene of an accident is serious shit. if he didn't get your info, then you just got away with one

if there's absolutely no damage to his trailer there's not much he can do because in court its his word against yours.

Yeah I gotta agree ^. If there is absolutly no damage to either of you then your fine. Hopefully this guy isn't clever enough to damage his trailer and claim that you did it.

Leaving the scene of an accident is a serious offense. But what you have going for you is you did stop and and there was no personal injury or property damage. The $35 could be considered a bribe. Because it was such a small amount, my bet would be, this guy didn't want to call the cops any more than you wanted him too. ( probably no drivers license which he would have to present). Probably needed the money for a couple more rounds at the local pub. If you haven't heard anything by now you probably won't.

just take some pics of your car to be safe. depending on the color of you car and how you hit him and stuff then there would probably be some paint color on his bumper. if he inflicted his own damage then there won't be.
