How long can a 02 elantra last?

Today a used car salesman tried to push me into a 02 Elantra with 90K miles. The car is fine as far as I could tell. But I am really concerned about the mileage of this vecile. I wonder generally how long an Elantra can last before it is too costly to repair it. Folks, can you give me some hints? Thanks a lot!

I personally wouldn't buy anything that's 2-3 years old with 90k miles on it. If for no other reason than you won't have much if any warranty on it should something fail. I would look at a good used Honda or something rather than a used high mileage Elantra.

Thank you! I decided not to pursue it.

I have a diferent Opinion.
I think a Well care Elantra can be ten years old or 150 K miles.
without no problems.
If you don't agree look at mine.

it is 1997 and has 90K miles.

Sure yours has 90k AND it's 8 years old. The one that the dealer was trying to put him into had the same amount of miles with only 2 years. Those miles are way too high...the warranty is non existant since once the car changes owners the 10/100k warranty is reduced to 5/60k...and it's already over the maximum mileage.

Again, a 2 year old car with 90k miles is way too much.

One thing to point about the warranty, not every country that Hyundai is selling their vehicles has the same 10/100,000 warranty that the US owners have. Canada is different, Mexico also, etc etc.
