rockers?

any one had any experience using these 1.8 rockers?are they worth the effort?thoughts on mods fer 02 gt?

cant do a turbo i have to go small fer now you see i have a bad problem ok
1 turbo= wife will kill me and leave

ubend and res delete w/ flowmaster 40s
cone filter

is the shift kit diy and is it dependable?

took me an hour, easy instal, they give really good directions. i had mine set at max for about 4k miles, no problem. i just put it down to med. because im getting a dhp when my car comes out of stoage in spring.with the dhp it increases the pressure in your trans lines, so w/ the kit on max its bad for your tranny. if i were you ide get it, set it to med. you will feel the difference, but its by no means dash ripping shifts, just nice smooth, but firm shifts.

Know what you mean about having shift kit set at max. Left mine like that for a day. Damn thing will break your neck with a dhp. Took mine down to med. BUT the dhp only add pressure on GTPs. And only in performance shift.

i thought the dhp did on the gt also, except it was all the time, not just when the per. shift was on. Oh well.. im going to do what performance shift option, your have to run a wire from your pcm and get a new shift know, its on the web here somewhere. so if anyone has a performance shift knob, let me know.

98, your right. They do make one for GT's. My mistake. Boy that hasn't happened today.
They do sell that knob on Ebay from time to time.

I'm not absolutely certain about '98s but on the '00-'03's you have to have a reprogrammed PCM to activate Performance Shift on vehicles not equipped that way from the factory. It's not as simple as running a wire and buying a shift knob.

Also, you don't have to replace the shift knob if you don't want to. You can either ground the jumper wire and have Perf Shift on all the time, or you can mount a toggle on the console. Personally, I don't like the shifter with a button it so I installed a toggle.

What I don't like about the button is everytime you reach for anything on that side, you turn it off or on.

Which 1.8 rockers are you referring to??? Rockers will give you added HP in the higher RPMS...and you will be able to feel a definite difference..if you are looking at the SLP 1.8 rockers..the are a high quality product..along with the new Comp Cams rockers offered by zzperformance..ttyl Mik
