viper stripes

with my 66 beetle, custom kit and all, i was thinking of a metalic silver paint with royal blue viper stripes. i was just wonderin whether it would be better to use decals for the stripes or to airbrush them on. im looking for a total shine finish so im guessing to use the airbrush. has anyone else done this before and have pictures??

u should be fine if u clear and polish the decals when ur done

Decals will work fine. Just bury them in a few coats of clear, then polish it, and they will look painted on.

cheers guys, while im at it, do you ppl paint the engine components and then put them togeather or vis-versa (mind the spellin)

Pre assemble (no adhesive), test fit, sand mold lines, paint, assemble with cement.
