Help Me Start My Car Please!!

I just finished up my automatic to 5-speed manual conversion on my '94 SL and the only problem that I have is starting the car. As you very well may know with an automatic, the transmission needs to be in either neutral or park to start the car. Well now that it is manual, it should be that the clutch needs to be pushed in, but I don't see a plug to go into the clutch neutral safety switch! And the car won't start when I turn the key, of course. If anyone can tell me which wires can be crossed to bypass the neutral safetey switch, or give me a wiring diagram of the system I would really appreciate it!! Thanks.
ps - are the wiring harness's different between manual and automatic does anyone know? (everything else that I thought would be a problem had a plug that worked)

Well I'm looking for your answer...but if I can't find anything, you may want to call:
Kormex Transmission Parts
2020 S. Vineyard Ave.
Ontario, CA 91761
800-429-5464; 909-947-0569
ask for Frank Martin
I got that off Jeff Lucius's site (www.stealth316.com)
He knows our trannies.
Also you could try a search on 3si, I'd assume someone there has done the auto to manual swap.

Hehe yeah definitely check 3si. When it comes back up. Mikes95RT is the guy to talk to. I think he posted a thread on exactly what you need to do to get your back up lights to work and to get the car to start.

I can probably guess why it wont let you sign up. You can't use free web mail such as yahoo or hotmail. It has to be something like aol or verizon or something like that. The site is still down but it is being worked on right now so hopefully it will come back up shortly and you can find the info you need.

Yeah, I only have the free email services...well from the clutch pedal neutral safety switch there are two wires that go into the plug, so I assume there are two wires and a plug that should come out of the harness on a normally manual 3S. But since my was automatic I don't have the plug, or at least I can't find it up there. Does anyone know for a fact that the wiring harness's are different between automatic and manual? I don't see why they would be, everything else was made universal (crankshaft, tranny bolts, console, firewall, etc..). I did find a wiring diagram but it doesnt say anything about the neutral safety switch. I tried hotwiring the car today, I could get power to all the systems in the car without the key in, but I didn't have enough hands to connect the wires that might start it at the same time. But I don't think that would work anyway. As for starting it from the starter, I took off the starter and tested it off the car to see what was going on when I crossed the wires on it...off the car it functioned properly (the gear pops out and then spins where it would contact the flywheel), but when I put it back on the car and crossed the wires it spins first and then pops out, making it just knick the outer edge of the flywheel instead of engaging it. If anyone that has a manual could get under the dash and look at their clutch pedal to see where the plug that plugs into the neutral safety switch on the clutch pedal goes to (mouthful) and tell me what color the wires are that go up into the harness, I think i'd be able to get the car started with ease. Although in the end I may end up having to put in a hidden push button starter, which would still be cool. Please someone, this is all I have left to do on my auto to manual conversion!!!!!

The wiring harness is for sure different between manual and auto. 3si is back up now so if you go over there search for the post by Mikes95rt. Hes a genius with these cars.
