The high beam indicator blinks during the day when the lights are off. When lights are on, no problem. Any ideas?

this is a damn old ass thread, should hav started a new1. But anyhow check your high beams, one may be burnt out. If not check the fuse/relays and see if that doesnt get you somewheres.

Hi friends... By any chance, did you fiddle around by attempting to disable your drl's ? The only reason I ask is because I read somewhere that if that mod is not done correctly, strange things happen with the bcm module and lights. Just wondering if somebody tried the mod, but didn't complete it or didn't do it right.
I followed a tutorial to disable my drl's, and also my alc sensor too. It was driving me nuts by turning on my headlights to full brightness, just because I was driving through a dense shade area......it would sense the change of diminished light, and turn on my headlights.
I finally got so sick of that, so I followed a tutorial to completely get rid of them. Best thing I've ever done...now I have complete control of my headlights, running lights, and fogs.
That mod was specific for my 2000 GT1 though.... there are apparently different wiring scenarios for different year Grand Am's.
It was a time consuming mod for me; but well worth it. Took me many hours because I took it a step further and installed a on/off switch inside my glovebox to turn on my drl's if I want or need them. I sometimes will out them on if I travel on the Mass Turnpike (just for safety). However, I hardly ever travel on that highway...
Just thought I'd mention that; in case a previous owner of your car maybe did something to the drl's... Other than that, I am lost on your blinking light.... I am not too good at troubleshooting electrical stuff like that. I had my hands full with that damn mod, lol.... But I succeeded and it was worth it.
Now when darkness/dusk comes, I like to run with my running lights; not the darn full brightness of the headlights. I turn them on when it is time; I got fed up with G.M. turning them on for me, in full daylight yet....
Take care friends... Enjoy the upcoming weekend !

Sorry for not starting a new thread, didnt search posts by dates just the topic. Anyway, I did just get the car its a 96 grand am 3.1 se. Very same as my 97, Suppose to be a parts car but its in too good of shape to part out. The only reason why I even care about the drl is because I need them to get the car safetied. Why? I dont know. The headlights work great other than drl's.
So my big question is where is the module or relays at? Anyone know? I've been searching all over the net and got the dash tore apart. I admit I'm not 100% sure what the module would look like but I have a good idea from what I've read. I found some relays under the hood and one under the drivers side dash. Hopefully somebody around here could help me cause I'm lost on this one.
