i have a 1997 civic ex d16y8 if i place these mods on this motor how much power should i expect and is it worth the money? these are my prices i got
Aem Cold air intake (Bought)
dc 4-2-1 ceramic header (bought)
apex-i world sport 2 exhaust (bought)
test pipe(40.00)
mugen race ecu(bought)
fuel pressure regulator (45.00)
vafc (250.00)
skunk 2 intake manifold(255.00)
crower stage 2 camshaft(325.00)
cam gear(75.00)
springs/retainer kit(280.00)
stage 2 port & polish head(280.00)
aem fuel rail(150.00)
bigger injectors(200.00)
bigger fuel pump(120.00)
Last but not least FULL DYNO TUNED TO MAXIMUM POWER
Total would be about 2200.......
is this set up worth the money or should i just spend 2 grand on a greddy turbo kit?

also curious if anyone has used or heard of zex comp cams or obx cams and how do they compare to crower?

[whispers] $2200 DOHC swap [whispers]
or a SOHC turbo.

first off, dont get a test pipe, get a high flow cat, dont kill the enviornment for just a few hp, its not worth it.
second, you cant full tune your engine with a vafc, you can only tune fuel but you cant tuen timing so its not full tuned for maximum power
third you should think about getting a tb to go with your intake mani because no sense in getting a mani if your running stock tb
i would just get the greddy kit

I'd just go with an engine swap to a GSR or the Greddy kit w/Hondata. Oh yea, don't get OBX anything. There make P.O.S. products. I'd defintely go Crower.

ok now the question is greddy turbo kit vs b16a.... and how long would my motor last on a greddy kit?

also does anyone know what horsepower number a d16y8 is looking at with a greddy turbo kit with intercooler at 7 or 8 psi?

also if i put say a zex comp cam or a crower cam for n/a will it work with a turbo? let me know on that too thanks

first off, shut your mouth about obx, have you tried there lsd ? i bet you think it would break on the first run yeah, well youd be wrong because it handled 400whp launches on slicks and its still holding up to this day. obx is changing and is now becoming a good company so you better stop talking and spreading rumors.
as for greddy vs b16, my friends 5th gen sohcvtec coupe with a greddy kit was beating my friends 4th gen hatch with a b16. and you motor will last long if it is tuned good.
the only thing you have to worry about with a cam is having too much blow by. check out specs on a sohc turbo cam and either get a turbo cam or one with specs close to that

I dont know what #'s that puts out but a Flux capacitor and a few banana peels should give you what you want.

to answer the question you'd be lucky to have 150hp to the ground maybe 165 to the crank.

150 whp with a greddy kit with intercooler and boost controller and bov with it dyon tuned?

i would have to say somewhere between 150-170whp for a greddy kit on a sohc vtec, even more if he has internals done to it.
but if you get an ems of some kind then you can run even more then 7 or 8psi, more like 11 tuned good. that will give you some good hp numbers

cool deal few other questions can i run these parts with the greddy kit?
edelbrock victor x manifold?
skunk 2 manifold?
unorthodox racing pulley kit?
i have a act stage 2 clutch and act prolyte flywheel are those good to use?

reason im asking bout the pulley kit i got it for free off my friends y8 motor curious if i should put it on and if it will make any difference in power?

the jg mani will flow more but they say it more for top end 7k-10krpms. i mean if it were me, id go with the jg mani. but thats just me.
but i wouldnt use the ur pulley, run the chance of spinning all your bearings or blowing your oil pump gear. it has been known to cause catastrophic damage to engines because those pulleys eliminate the harmonic dampener which is vital in taking away engine vibrations in the crank.

what horsepower numbers am i looking at with these mods on my d16y8
intake/header/exhaust
stage 2 camshaft/camgear
aem fuel rail with fuel pressure reg
edelbrock intake manifold
bigger throttle body
3 piece unorthodox racing pulley kit alt/ps/crank
vafc controller "TUNED"
skunk 2 ecu chip obd1
55 shot zex nitrous wet kit...........
dyno tuned on the nitrous and without any guesstimates?

any answer you get is gonna be a guesstimate because i doubt anyone on here runs that exact setup so it will be all guesses. and if your running a skunk2 chip idk if you would watn to be running nitrous, if that chip advances your timing, which is bad with nitrous, you may blow yoru motor
