Hello everyone! I have a 1992 chev s-10 blazer with the 4.3 v-6 vortec engine. It has started dieing out on me, I can let it set for an hour or so and it stars back and will drive a little longer then stall again! I thought it was the fuel filter so I changed it today when it stranded me again but that did'nt fix it.I can hear the fuel pump running and pumping. Has anyone else had this problem, if so what caused it? Two friends mentioned two different things, but I want to replace the right one if either of the two mentioned is the problem. They mentioned the module in the distributor and also the fuel pressure regulator! Please let me know something, this is my only means of transportation! Thanks: Sincerely:m249kill

Sure sounds like the ignition module heating up and failing. Common symptom. Remove and take to autozone and have them test it a couple times. Cost about 30 bucks to replace.

1.) Are you getting any check engine codes?

2.) Are you experiencing poor fuel economy?

3.) Is your exhaust black sometimes?

4.) Do you smell fuel from the engine compartment sometimes when accelerating?

Remove the plate on the top of your engine and carefully remove the valve in the top of the plenum and take a flashlight and look inside the engine and look for clean washed places and pools of fuel.

Also, smell for fuel.
