ok this is what i plan to run on my 1996 Teg LS b18B1...or am thinking about running unless somethin better comes my way.

i want to get a full motor rebuild, thicker and all new gaskets, forged internals, with the compression ratio staying around 9.2 . gettin basic bolt ons, new cams, and a head rebuild, maybe a P&P. And then later down the line going with a supercharger.

i know the motor will be able to withstand this, but will it also be able to handle around a 50 shot of nitrous every now and then at the track, with the bolt ons, cams, SC, with the forged internals and all? thanks everyone....

yes, especially with the engine built.

wel like some of my fellow animals have said in the past, if you are worried about nos messing up your engine, try a cheap alternative, like propane

yes, especially with the engine built.

but what im worried about is the compression staying at 9.2, so it will be fine?

also, about how much power would i be putting to the wheels, without nitrous, after a proper dyno tune? at least 220 whp?

variables come into play on that. like what type of cams are you going to use? how much boost? and with the common bolt ons you should be hitting close to that number. not really quite an exact science.

i want to use crower stage 2 cams, and the boost will stay around 8 psi. not sure of what fuel management yet.

Why? Turbo on stock internals. It's an LS!

forget SC, go TURBO!!!! theres only so much u can do with a supercharger. the oppurtunities of turbo are much higher. a 9.2 Compression ratio will be fine. and if u get the stage 2 cams (the crower 62403's) then ur compression will go down even more. u also need to get a set of cam gears to tune those cams once u install a sc or turbo.

if ur build n the motor now w/o boost n the motor, that 9.2 compression ratio is gonna be horrible when u install the cams. if u dont mind have n a slow car in the mean time b4 u go boost, then go ahead. i would just save up and do it all in one shot

yeah i was thinking i wouldnt get bit by the boost bug, but i was thinking about it earlier in class and decided turbo would be better. but the question still stands, would it be safe to use a 50 shot of n2o on the built motor, 9.2 ratio, and around 8 pounds of boost?

hows this..LS's are know to be able to withstand up to 11-12psi on STOCK internals.

Why are you needing a 50 shot of N20? You have boost, you could always increase the boost, especialy sense you are bulding the internals. With a well built bottmend and tuning you could push 12-15 psi daily and 18-20 ish at the track. That will be more than enough power to break axles, toast the clutch, and completely roast tires. My :2cents:

but could i run 12-15 pounds daily/ 18-20 track on a built bottom end, with a CR of 9.2?

Well it all depends on the specs of the cams you use, and if you are talking about static C/R or dynamic C/R. The cams will change the static C/R to the dynamic C/R when installed. Basically if you buy 9.2 C/R pistons and you install a cam with a higher lift and more duration then you will not have 9.2 C/R anymore it will be less.
