Newbie Here- with a heater blower problem

Hi all, I just found this forum.
I wonder if any of you might know what the most likely reason that the heater blower motor in a '97 Bravada sometimes will not run? There seems to be no true pattern to when it fails to start up. But it does seem to be the most frequent when it is cold out, but also has refused to run at times when I needed the a/c too. If I turn on the blower and it doesn't run, nothing I do will get it running. It may start to work the next time I drive the car though, be it 6 hours or 2 days later. It never quits if it starts and remains turned on. I'm wondering if it has something to do with some intermittent temperature sensor trouble?
It really sux when it's frosty out in the morning!!

I hope I can contribute to this forum at times.
Thanks for all thoughts and expertise you all may offer!

Sounds like the blower motor is worn out. Sometimes you hear about a blower motor relay as a possible problem but mine are the motors themselves.

Thanks, I hope it's not the motor, it's work to get that thing out! I'm going to take a look at the relay and connections first as it sure acts like an intermitant electrical connection/contact problem. If no luck there then maybe the motor has a flat spot  I'll have to change the motor then.

My 97 Bravada had the same problem and it was the electrical connector that plugs into the firewall on the passenger side of the vehicle. It is a two pronged rubber connector and my problem was also intermittent and worse during cold weather. Turn the fan switch on and jiggle this connector, you can hear the fan come on. You might try cleaning it. If you need more info let me know

thank you!!!
I also noticed that if I wiggle the plug - The fan will come on. I thought that the fan had a short inside but I will try to clean the plug and see what happens.
