i have an all stock 2000 impreza, and the brakes seem to be making a non stop squealing all the time, but it STOPS when i do brake or go through any kind of curve.

brakes and rotors were replaced 5 months ago. it stopped for awhile but started again not long after they were replaced and still goin. any kind of ideas?

warped your rotors or your calipers are closing up just enough so the pad barely touches.

What kind of brake pads did you put in? This is often caused by the brake pad itself brushing against the caliper. It goes away when you hit the brakes because it's not vibrating on and off against the rotors, which can cause the squealing.

eep....well the steering does shake under medium braking...

what kind of stuff causes rotors to warp? cant say i remember any time where i had to slam the brakes.

Holding the brakes after heating them will also cause warping. For example, if you drove it hard for a few minutes around some turns and twistys, then stopped at a red light with your foot holding the brake down for a while. There are lots of ways to warp the brakes, and some of them are really easy to do.

mashing on the brakes and hitting a puddle of water can cause it. anything that would cool your brakes down can cause it. check your rotors to see if they have heat spots as well, they'll look like spots on the rotors.
