I would not suggest it. It has a governor on it for a reason. If speed is what you want, then you should have got a stang

Actually mikieem your wrong. Thats what the superchips and other such chips for cars do now is reprogram the computers which includes the governer. Simply all you must do is buy the correct "chip" for your truck. try www.stylinconcepts.com to get a reasonable price on them. But they do run a good price.

Why would you want to go over 90-100 mph in such a light pick-up truck? No weight in the rear, horrible aerodynamics. Remember trucks are geared for pulling a load, not top end.
If you want to run top end buy high-speed tires. Tires go egg shaped at high speeds.

With your truck being a '91 with EEC IV, I don't think you even can put a chip in it and I know you can't use a programmer. Besides, I agree with the others, 100+ in something like that may not be a good idea. If you're hell-bent on it, just make sure your tires are rated for that speed, that they are inflated to max psi. for the tire, front steering and suspension components are tight(ie: ball joints, tie rod ends, etc.), and the roads are safe.

well, if you pull your 6 or 4 whatever you have, and throw an early 5.0 in it, youll slove that problem real easy. plus youll be able to kill mustangs in a ranger (how embarrassing)

Turn your abs off, it removes it but also when you reach 115+ prepare for your driveshaft to fall out.
Also it is nice to have 373's in my truck I hit top at 101 =D.
Not that I cruise at that.

Why is it everyone goes straight to the Mustang kill??? How about a Camaro kill? Trans Am kill? Charger kill? The Mustang must be the benchmark of all power/racing comparisons. Especially considering F-body guys are soooo proud of barely beating a stock Mustang considering they have 80 more cubes of engine. A car-length win is what, 0.2 sec in a 1/4 mi. Wow, I bow down, NOT!!!

Mustang has been in continuous production for 40 years now. In 2005 it is at the top of its game as far as looks go. I would say that is a benchmark for affordable American sport scars.
Only Corvette can top that but at $77,000 for a 2006 model I don't even think about Corvettes.

HAHA!! not being a jerk or anything but i do see alot of people that relate the kill to a mustang. But all mustang owners out there know if a early model ranger pulls next to them and revs the first thought is, "c'mon, are you serious?" i just think its funny as hell.

You're right, I know. I guess I just had a lot of repressed feelings that kind of emerged out on this thread. Sorry guys, didn't mean to. I'm just a huge Mustang fan and I'm tired of hearing them talked down all the time. I'm also tired of watching them get destroyed in movies. Directors seem to like to destroy classic and modern Mustangs for some reason.

I didn't see anybody ask so I will, what year is it, and what engine does it have in it. I had a 95 with a 2.3, and yes it would break 90 but it would take a LONG time to get there.

Mustang is the new chic car now, especially the flop-tops. Camaros and Trans Am's are out of production......hot chics like new cars. I have no problem with that, 2005 Mustang is by far the best looking American sports car on the road for under $30,000. And I don't even like Fords.

Umm..... not really the ford ranger has a real high rear end I know my 86 has a 370 in it so its really geared to move (even though it can't) as the ranger was orgianly designed for off road racing.
