Chattering Wiper blades

Does anyone else have this problem? I drive 70 miles a day to and from work. Almost all interstate. When it rains I hate to drive. At any speeds above 70 mph my wiper blades do not clear the window. Either they chatter or they just miss the middle of the window. I have tried 3 diffrent kinds of blades. All work the same. I have even used rainX. Although that helps it still doesn't fix the problem. My parents use to have a Eagle Vision that had wings on there wiper blades. It seamed to keep pressure on the windshield. Has anyone found a wiper blade like that or used it? Or does anyone have a diffrent solution for this problem. Yea yea yea I know I could slow down. But not with this car.

There are aftermarket wings you can put on to press the wipers down, try to tighten the springs that hold them down.

I've seen springs too that fit on the bottom of the wiper and give it more pressure on the windshield.

RAIN-X. I almost never even use my wipers, particularly when driving at interstate speeds 45-mph and up. Rain water beads up and blows clear. I highly recommend this. Not the stuff you put in the washer-resevoir but the stuff that you spray-on the windshield and buff clear.

Full disclosure: I have no direct financial interest in the RAIN-X product or it's manufacturer.

They have a lot of different products on their website - which one do you use?
You obviously have to use the wipers sometimes, I'm assuming you sometimes go slower than 45mph :) - how long does this stuff last?
I wouldn't want something you have to put on every few days.

I use the Original stuff shown as the first item at the top of the link I included. Actually, I very very rarely use my wipers even at surface-street speeds 20 - 45. Gravity provides the incentive for the rain water to rapidly wash down off the windshield at the lower speeds. For reasons that can only be explained with the word "women", my lovely spouse can not stand it that I don't turn on the wipers. I think it's some sort of Pavlovian "thing" with her because there are NO visibility issues what-so-ever.
In any case, it's duration is a function of the amount of rain, the number of times you wash the windshield and the number of times you scrape at it by turning on the wipers. I find that in general it last through several rainy periods and I usually re-apply when I wash the vehicle. I can't imagine NOT using it.

Thanks for the info, I don't have problems with my wipers but this sounds like good stuff.
I'll try it for sure.

:2cents:Yes RAIN -X works along with some rubbing alcohol on the rubber blades. Do NOT use "tranny fluid" to lube the rubber blade!:nono:
Have a safe winter, you'all:smile:.
