this sunday i killed the 04 nsx, my step dads boss came over sunday because we had a barbeque and he asked me if i was ready to race him, well we went to these industrial streets and we raced, i took him twice by four car lengths, but then we got on the highway and that was a different story we drove next to each other and took off and i was ahead by three car lenghts and when we hit 125 he got infront of me and pulled away and stayed ahead by three cars before we stopped,

You should beat him by a couple car lengths at around 80 -90 MPH, Somewhere around 100 MPH he should start gaining on you and may pass you.
I think someone around here is a genious, who knows all.

yes it does feel good beating him, he's been wanting to race for a while but it's been raining so this weekend was my first chance. i heard the nsx cost about 60g

FormulaLT1
10-25-2004, 07:14 PM
Well no its more like 90g's, So I guess its more like 30 times. But well you got the idea.

90g's for a honda, Eff that...die honda die.

This thread is so lame. Everyone knows the NSX is the king of cornering. Did you race around any corners? That thing would take your ass around the outside of a pin turn easy. I'm not being biased, but the NSX could corner better than you even imagine. I fully expect you to burn him on the strait though. the NSX lacks power, just like modern day vehicles.

FormulaLT1
10-25-2004, 09:01 PM
A true sports car should be able to do everything well and yes they handle way better than any F-body produced to date but for 90g's they should be able to burn a $3k Camaro thats all I'm saying. Also your a osirisforums member right?

96Civ
10-25-2004, 09:36 PM
Yeah, I am a member of osiris also. But for 80-90k, the NSX "handles" like a true sports car and actually keeps up with million dollar sport cars on the track. Like any other car, you can mod it to go faster, but how easy is it to adjust the weight distribution of the car? the NSX has the engine in the rear w/ RWD helping the overall performance of the car, which in my opinion is impossible no matter how much you upgrade the F-body.

So although I probably will never afford an NSX, I think its very worth the price tag.

Also, don't match up the price of a brand spanking new NSX with a used camaro... cmon, be fair ;)

FormulaLT1
10-25-2004, 10:02 PM
Well, I'm sorry but I will have to disagree with you for 90K I can think of many other cars that can handle just as well and blow the doors off a moded LS1 let alone LT1 but I did read about your Chevelle over at that othe site and that sucks I know how you feel I crashed my first sports car too. Anyway why is you name 96civ?

cuda_dude
10-25-2004, 10:14 PM
i bet you i could almost send my f body into orbit for 90k :)

I didn't consider my chevelle a sports car, in fact its the least sporty chevelle of the bunch. 4 door, v6 with lots of dings. Probably my most favorite beater I would ever have. We jumped it, hit stuff, drifted it, ran from the cops (got away I might add) and took it offroading. I didn't realize the most dangerous thing was avoiding old people in a passat.

Anyways, my name stands for what I want to do in the future. I think I can turn a civic into a real street machine, for a good price and for a exceptional performance. But I am not in denial, I don't have the money to do this yet and I see no point in becoming a ricer before I do.

A chevelle dies, and another one is reborn. Me and my friend are almost done restoring a 70 chevelle that has almost taken us a year to do. All the way down to removing all the pannels and repairing the dents by hand out in the freezing cold. As a matter of fact, soon I am leaving to his house and going to try and get the thing started tonight.

Thank me for being incredibly off topic.

Anyways, if any of us actually test drived an NSX, you would know why its worth as much as it is. I have only gone by the words of true NSX owners that the handling is godly and although it does cost a considerable amount, its regular people like us who can just barely dip our hands into the pool of the expensive sport car industry and when we do get a taste of it, we understand why it was worth so much.

True if I had thought it out better I would have said muscle car. but anyway please rethink that Civic. Even though I'm sure you have your mind set as most people do on things that interest them but even if you achieve what your going for its still a Civic. But good luck

lol funny stuff. for 90g's you could get an m3 CSL that, when driven right, whips the hell out of the nsx with lateral acceleration forces up to 1.4 g's. The last nsx stats I saw said it held the skidpad at .89 g's, which, by the way, was the stock skidpad numbers for my $1800 bmw e30. :loser:

96Civ
10-26-2004, 02:33 PM
Lateral Acceleration? Lets talk a little more about lateral acceleration shall we.. Europenas tend to use a different lateral acceleration method than we do here. Have you heard of a "SkidPad"? Probably not... http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/images/smilies/disappointed.gif Its a "Grip Dyno" of its own and it consists of going around in a large circle. I also want to point out that this is one of the very worst ways to "guess" how it will perform on the street or track where speeds are different and corners come sharper or wider.

If our method of testing lateral acceleration is not the same, the numbers are basicly worthless. http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/images/smilies/thefinger.gif

Its not just that one post which if you read he is insulting me, Its every thread over the couple of last weeks we both posted in and while I have shrugged it off he continues to act like a ass. So I'm going to give him some of his own medicine for a while and hopefully he will see what I'm talking about.
