Failed Speedometer

Speedometer fails low for several minutes at a time and then picks back up. Where's the best place to look for loose connections?

I fits 4WD check at the Transfer Case if its 2WD check at the Tranmission. Check the wirring harness ive had wires that break in the harness that cause the same condition.

It is a 4WD. I haven't checked codes yet.

look for a loose connection at the Vehicle Speed sensor, on the transfer Case, it is located on the top driverside of the Transfer Case.
this is for 98 and earlier Jeeps, 99 and later the VSS is part of the PCM.
