When i start my car in the morning, there is a ticking or sqeaking noise coming from the belts. The belts are new, and the sound eventually goes away when the car heats up. Is this a problem?

Also, how do i disconect the clutch from the starter? I heard this was bad for the car. How do i disconnect it? Thanks

If the belts are new, one of them may not be tight enough.

As far as disconecting the clutch from the starter - there are a few threads that deal with just that.

its prob your motor ticking,u know when a car is low on oil it ticks. its normal when its cold cuz all the oil is at the bottom of the oil pan when it heats up it goes to the motor

Engines like to make ticky noises, especially injectors. Don't worry about disconnecting the clutch start switch--420a engines don't need to worry about crankwalk like 4g63 engines do. Only turbo DSM guys need to do this mod to keep their car safe :).
