ok, my car likes to crank over once and awhile. but when it doesnt theres nothing there, it sounds like i can hear the main relay click when i try to turn it over but theres nothing. could this be a sign of a worn or faulty clutch switch?? if so, where is it located exactly? (pics would help) and can i just take the wire off it so i can start it without the clutch??

It could be the switch (at the top of the clutch pedal). Check here (http://www.binghamtonlife.com/manual/2gsm/images/91-23-39.jpg)
But there might be a bad spot on the commutator in the starter that is causing the non-start. GL

hah, i have remote start on my car. i had to bypass the clutch interlock switch. if u feel ur clutch pedal arm all the way up u should see a kind of copper colored kinda ovalish tube (looks like one of those C02 container things). that's where ur wires are connected. there are two wires. if u want u can just bypass it buy soldering or splicing the two wires together and then u wont have to worry about pushing in ur clutch when u start up ur car. however, it is a safety feature incase u were to start ur car up in gear.

yea, its pretty tough to get to. i've heard about people soldering them up there so i just suggested it. maybe these people are like stealth or something. all i did was splice them togethether, put electrical tape over it, and everything was sweet there after.

It's not really a problem, as stated before, just make sure your car isn't in gear when you attempt to start it without using the clutch.

88 Crx's didnt have the clutch safety switch so what you are experiencing, JDMHondaFreak, is normal for an 88. If your problem reappears, 1PhatCX, I would suggest looking at your starter as someone else already mentioned.

my 89 DX doesn't have one either.
whether that's how it is, or that's how someone made it, i dunno.
