I was wondering if anyone has a greddy exhaust on there 240? I have the Apexi N1 on my Celica and i dont really like the sound it gives me...i have a friend that has a Greddy on his car...sounds nice and deep sounding...is it the same for the 240?

Which GReddy exhaust? There' s a few different kind.

BTW, it says you wanna turbo your Celica, you might wanna do like my cousin did, he has a 93, but he put in the engine from a 1991 All-Trac Turbo (kept it FWD), at 14 PSI he puts down about 300whp (with a few extra mods).

engine also has alot to do with the tone, the KA24 generaly usualy gives off a deep tone, i have yet to hear ricey exhaust off a KA24E. SR20 on the other hand, sounds worse. CA18 is deep.

I have APEXI N1 on my car and it sounds very sexy.

i dont think the sr20 sounds to bad different but nice still. As far as the N1 exhaust i have heard no complaints about it on 240's. I only hear greddy exhausts on civics and shit and personally dont really like them cuz they sound all ricey and poppy sounding to me....maybe its just the civic doing it but i have never witnessed a good sounding greddy exhaust. Not saying they suck thats just my experience so far with them.

Exhausts are really hard to choose. Personally, the only advice I could give you is to search for sound or movie clips of cars with them but I am having a hard time finding any. Ask your friends, ask around spots where people hang out, etc. Your bound to find someone thats got something your looking for.

My Apexi N1 was kinda ricey, but I got a silencer and it was much better. Now that my KA is turbocharged, the N1 sounds very good. you can barely hear it with or without the silencer.

btw Logik23...i wasnt talking about fixing up my Celica...im selling it..lol...4g's for anyone who wants it...anywho...yea my friend has a 95 probe GT with one of the Greddy exhaust on it...sounds really deep and sexy...my apexi sounds good...(not complaining) but just wish it was deeper...would a turbo make it sound deeper or no?

I just bought Header for my SR20 and apex exhaust with 3 1/4 piping from the header. Do you think that will make the car sound like crap???

Umm....guys, there are no headers on a turbo car, it's called an exhaust manifold.

Exhaust manifolds on SR20s Bump the power up alot. Ive heard of up to 40hp on a T25.

Sooner or later im gonna get a

Megan Downpipe / Testpipe 175$
URAS RS or Yashio Factory cat back 350-450$

They screwed up, on a turboed engine, it's an exhaust manifold.

ummm, you can have a header on a turbo i thought. The difference between the two is that a header has all pipes equal length so the power is finely equal when it goes to the turbo. Plus this reduces heat on certain cylindars that have shorter tubes. They can be made but are very complicated and that is why they cost so much.

I saw on the back of this magazine a greddy TT exhaust system, they say it is made for tubro cars and has many different uses for power like street/drag/ others. What are your guys thoughts on these systems?

look at this pic, then scroll down and see what its titled.... http://www.pbase.com/image/33636525

It's like a tubular equal length manifold or some shit like that, I dunno, but you guys are giving me links to things that were written by people that probably don't know very much, find me a reputable company that says there's headers on a turbo car.

no way, i had one till it leaked, 20 hp ... i have a T28 . the real diff is the speed the turbo spouls up and the sound it makes! sound better!!

for one to the guy with the headers, turbo cars can't have headers, unless you mean turbo manifold. second ive jet to hear a riced up SR20 all the ones ive heard are deep and throaty.and they all have different exhausts(greddy, apexi, hks, and JIC magic)

actually heareds are called header because they derectly bolt to the cat. making it a little hard to put a turbo in one.

The ones with tubes are equal-length turbo manifolds. Yes they will add power and response because they are less restrictive than the stockers. I'm not sure if it is an advantage(mostly preferance) but if you buy an equal-length, you have the choice of buying one to make the turbo a top-mount style. Some say it is better, some don't. One thing you have to consider when switching to top-mount is the downpipe. A custom piece to connect to your existing downpipe will probably have to made. The equal-lengths are better because all the exhaust pulses are reaching the turbine impeller at equally timed intervals to make a much quicker spool up. Quicker spool means more power. The downfall of most equal-length manifolds is thier proneness to cracking. The thin materials used to make them will crack much sooner than the thick cast style manifolds. Coating them with ceramic material is usually done to prolong the life of the manifold. Not only that, it would be stupid to spend $600 on a nice manifold and then skip out on the $100 to get it coated. Most of the time, you can opt to have it coated from where you are buying it.
