1993 - No dash lights

I recently have been building up my older escort wagon 1993, only thing I have left is to replace the rear shocks and springs. I had a problem with a bad fuse blowing by a short I found on the fuel pump. Replaced and all is fine.... everything seemed to be ok.

No dash lights the switch is where it is supposed to be to have full brightness, fuses are all good, and have even replaced with news ones to test, but still nothing. Funny thing is that the roof light works and the door buzzing works, the lights and signals are all fine.

What I'm thinking is that maybe the fuse panel picture I was given may yet still be the wrong one for my 1993 Ford Escort Wagon LX 1.9.

Here is the post that was given with picture.

Well, I have an '87 escort, and the instrument panel has a "printed circuit board" on the back that is basically a thin sheet of flexible plastic that has wires imbedded in it. It's very easy for this to get damaged, and if it does, you're pooched.

In my car I think the board is damaged, which means I'll have to replace the cluster.

My instruments don't light up, but the signal indicators and warning lights work. All those lights on the dash work off the same fuse, so if you've got some lights that work, you're probably barking up the wrong tree in regards to the fuse box - at least, in regards to your dash illumination.

How did you replace those bulbs. I have the same problem but have not been able to get to the bulbs to replace them.
Thanks

there are some bolts that hold the steering colum in place if you take those out the steering whell drops down. then take out the screws that have the plastic covering over the gauges. pull it off and their you go takes about a half hour.
