93 wont start?

ok... heres what is happening. a week ago I came home and the car died when I got right in front of my house. Tried to start it again but all I get is it trying to start. it goes raarraarraaaraa, and now its getting weaker. I thought it might need a new battery... guess not. maybe a new distributor cap and rotor since they looked bad... not that. I think it may be the starter, but I know really nothing about cars so can someone tell me where the starter would be located in the 93 taurus 3.0, becuase im lost... very lost. Any advise would help. thanks
